The Wine

The 2000 Vintage Port from Taylor’s is a monumental wine, hailed as one of the finest declarations of the new millennium. It combines Taylor’s hallmark elegance, precision, and power with the depth and concentration of this exceptional vintage. Structured and complex, it is built for decades of cellaring yet already shows remarkable purity and finesse.


Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense aromas of blackberry, cassis, plum, violets, and spices, with undertones of dark chocolate and liquorice.

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, delivering layers of black fruits, firm yet polished tannins, and vibrant acidity. Notes of fig, black cherry, and cocoa.

Finish: Long, powerful, and finely tuned, with lingering fruit, spice, and mineral precision — a hallmark of Taylor’s classic style.

Vinification: Traditional foot treading in granite lagares; matured in large seasoned oak vats before bottling after 2 years

Cellaring: Best from 2010 onwards, with extraordinary potential to develop through 2060 and beyond
