The Wine

The 2006 Shirvington Shiraz is a commanding expression of McLaren Vale’s rich terroir and Shirvington’s house style—ripe, concentrated, and unapologetically powerful. Known for producing wines of impressive intensity and finesse, Shirvington has crafted a Shiraz that captures the essence of the 2006 vintage: low yields, ripe fruit, and exceptional structure.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Deep and brooding aromas of blackberry, plum, and blueberry compote, interwoven with vanilla , and hints of eucalyptus and smoky oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, this wine delivers intense flavours of black cherry, dark chocolate, and spice cake, framed by robust yet refined tannins. The mid-palate is plush, with a lingering core of sweet oak and savoury earth.

Finish: Long, smooth, and warming, with lingering notes of cedar and black fruits.
