The Wine

The 2020 Riserva Ducale Oro Gran Selezione represents the pinnacle of Ruffino’s Chianti Classico production, crafted only in vintages of outstanding quality. The warm, dry 2020 vintage delivered wines of intensity, ripeness, and structure, yet with the freshness and elegance that define the Chianti Classico hills. This is a powerful but refined Gran Selezione, destined for long cellaring.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe and expressive, with aromas of black cherry, plum, violet, dried rose, and herbs, complimented by notes of leather and spice.

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, offering layers of dark fruit, cassis, and red cherry. Polished tannins and lively acidity carry hints of balsamic, cocoa, and cedar.

Finish: Long and structured, with fruit, spice, and savoury depth that speaks to its aging potential.
