The Wine

Louis Jadot’s Beaune Premier Cru Aux Cras 2015 is an expressive red Burgundy from one of Beaune’s well-regarded Premier Cru vineyards. The Aux Cras is known for producing Pinot Noir with a combination of ripe fruit, mineral character and fine structure.

The 2015 vintage was warm and successful in Burgundy, producing wines with excellent concentration and ripe fruit while retaining enough freshness for long-term development. Now entering a lovely stage of maturity, this wine shows vibrant red and dark fruit alongside more complex savoury notes. Cherry, raspberry and blackberry are complemented by violet, earthy spice, cedar and subtle forest-floor character.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fragrant aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry and blackberry mingle with violet, rose petal, subtle cedar, earth, spice and dried herbs.

Palate: Medium-bodied and silky, with refined tannins and beautifully integrated acidity. Flavours of red cherry, plum, raspberry and blackberry develop alongside earthy spice, gentle oak and mineral notes.

Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering red fruit, savoury earth, spice and a subtle mineral freshness.

Producer Details

Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most respected négociant houses, with a long history of producing wines from some of the region’s finest appellations and vineyards. The house is known for combining traditional Burgundian winemaking with a strong emphasis on terroir and vineyard expression.

Beaune is the largest wine-producing commune of the Côte de Beaune, with numerous Premier Cru vineyards producing both red and white wines. Aux Cras is particularly suited to Pinot Noir, producing wines that balance the generosity of Beaune with structure, freshness and mineral precision.

Wine Details
