The Wine

Les Lions de Batailley 2015 is the refined second wine of the historic Château Batailley, crafted from the same Pauillac terroir as the grand vin. The 2015 vintage — marked by balance and harmony — has produced a wine that offers both approachability and depth, showcasing ripe fruit and classic Left Bank structure. Presented here in magnum format, it promises aging potential.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Expressive aromas of cassis, black cherry, cedar, and graphite, with hints of spice.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with supple tannins and a core of ripe dark fruit. Notes of plum, tobacco and pencil shavings reflect its Pauillac origins.

Finish: Smooth and elegant, with lingering flavours of black fruit and subtle oak.

Producer Details

Château Batailley, classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, is one of Pauillac’s oldest and most respected estates. Les Lions de Batailley represents the château’s more immediately approachable expression, made from younger vines and selected parcels yet crafted with the same care and attention as the grand vin.
