The Wine

The 2016 vintage of La Magia Brunello di Montalcino is a stunning expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most exceptional harvests. Marked by perfect climatic conditions, 2016 has delivered wines of purity, balance, and remarkable longevity. La Magia’s vineyards, located on the southern slopes of Montalcino at high elevation, contribute freshness and elegance, resulting in a Brunello of both finesse and structure.


Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromatic and refined, with notes of cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, violet, and subtle spice.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, displaying red and dark berry fruit wrapped in fine, polished tannins. Undertones of leather, tobacco, and mineral earthiness add complexity and depth.

Finish: Long and harmonious, balancing ripe fruit with savoury nuances and vibrant acidity, ensuring graceful evolution in the cellar.

La Magia is a family-run estate located in the heart of Montalcino. Known for its organically farmed vineyards and high-altitude terroir, the estate crafts Brunellos that marry elegance with power. Under the direction of the Schwarz family, La Magia has earned a reputation for producing some of the most refined and terroir-driven wines of the region.


Wine Details

Vinification: Fermented in stainless steel; matured in large Slavonian oak casks for 36 months, followed by additional bottle aging before release
Alcohol Content: ~14.5% ABV
Cellaring: Best enjoyed from 2022, with peak maturity through 2040 and beyond
