The 2009 Domaine Faiveley Volnay Frémiets is a beautifully expressive Burgundy from a ripe, generous vintage.


Tasting Notes:

Nose: Aromas of ripe raspberry, black cherry and layered with subtle spice, forest floor.

Palate: Silky and refined, with juicy red fruit at the core. Notes of crushed strawberry, baking spice, unfold over polished tannins and fresh acidity.

Finish: Long, graceful, and gently spiced, with lingering red fruit and earthy floor.


Producer Details:

Domaine Faiveley, one of Burgundy’s most prominent and historic domaines, has been crafting wines since 1825. Known for combining tradition with technical precision, Faiveley owns prime parcels throughout the Côte d'Or, including this Volnay Frémiets vineyard, located on the border with Pommard.


Wine Details:

Vinification: Hand-harvested; fermented in open wooden vats with partial whole-cluster inclusion; aged in French oak barrels (approx. 30% new) for 14–16 months
Alcohol Content: Approx. 13.5% ABV
Cellaring: Drinking well now; will continue to evolve gracefully through 2030


Drinking Window:

Mature and showing beautifully. Decant for 30 minutes to reveal full aromatic complexity.

Perfect with roast duck, coq au vin, wild mushroom risotto, or grilled salmon.
