The Wine

The 2012 Château Rauzan-Ségla is a refined and classically styled Margaux that highlights the estate’s precision and elegance in a challenging Bordeaux vintage. Benefiting from meticulous vineyard selection and winemaking, the wine delivers aromatic finesse, balance, and poise, with a structure that continues to evolve beautifully.


Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, and plum, layered with notes of violet, graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle spice.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with a silky texture and a focused core of fresh dark fruit. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while notes of cocoa, earth, and savoury oak add complexity.

Finish: Long, elegant, and precise, with lingering floral, mineral, and spice notes.


Producer Details

Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of Margaux’s most historic Second Growths, renowned for producing wines of finesse, aromatic complexity, and longevity. Under the ownership of Chanel, the estate has undergone significant investment, elevating quality while preserving its classical Margaux character.

Vinification: Fermentation in temperature-controlled vats; aged approximately 18 months in French oak barrels (around 50–60% new)
Alcohol Content: ~13% ABV
Cellaring: Drinking well now, with best drinking expected between 2023–2040+
