The 2008 Château Langoa-Barton is a classic left bank claret from a château that consistently delivers quality and character. 


Tasting Notes:

Nose: Fresh and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, cigar box, and graphite.

Palate: Full Bodied with firm yet polished tannins. Dark berry fruit, tobacco, and pencil shaving notes.

Finish: Persistent and finely tuned, with classic Saint-Julien balance.


Producer Details:

Château Langoa-Barton, owned by the Barton family since 1821, is one of the most historically respected properties in Saint-Julien. Sharing winemaking facilities with its more famous sibling, Léoville-Barton, the château is celebrated for its traditional methods and consistent quality.


Wine Details:

Vinification: Traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats; aged 18 months in French oak barrels (around 60% new)
Alcohol Content: Approx. 13.0% ABV
Cellaring: Approachable now with decanting; optimal drinking from 2023 through 2035


Drinking Window:

Fully entering its prime, with tertiary complexity emerging. Decant for an hour to enhance aromatic expression and soften tannins.


Food Pairing Suggestions:

Perfect alongside roast beef, duck with red wine reduction, grilled ribeye, or wild mushroom stew.
