The Wine
The 2011 Château La Croix Saint-Georges is a refined and elegant expression of Pomerol, offering silky texture, balanced fruit, and classic Right Bank charm. The vintage produced supple, medium-bodied wines with excellent freshness, making this bottling particularly approachable while retaining the depth and character expected from Pomerol’s clay-rich terroir.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of black cherry, plum, and damson, layered with notes of cocoa, graphite, sweet tobacco, and a hint of truffle.
Palate: Medium-bodied and smooth, showing ripe dark fruits supported by fine, polished tannins. Subtle touches of spice, earth, and cedar add complexity without overpowering the fruit.
Finish: Gentle, elegant, and persistent, with lingering notes of plum, spice, and savoury mineral nuance.
