The Wine

Château Gruaud Larose is one of Saint-Julien's most iconic estates, celebrated for producing wines that combine power, elegance, and exceptional longevity. Its deep gravel soils and high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon create wines with remarkable structure, complexity, and unmistakable Left Bank character.

The outstanding 2015 vintage showcases the estate at its finest. Rich and beautifully concentrated, it delivers impressive depth while retaining the finesse and balance for which Saint-Julien is renowned. Layers of vibrant black fruit, refined tannins, and subtle oak integration create a wine of outstanding harmony that will continue to evolve gracefully for decades.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and black cherry are layered with cedar, graphite, cigar box, violet, and hints of liquorice and sweet spice.

Palate: Full-bodied with a dense core of ripe dark fruit supported by finely polished tannins. Notes of cocoa, tobacco, and cedar add complexity, while fresh acidity provides balance and precision.

Finish: Exceptionally long and elegant, with lingering cassis, graphite, spice, and refined mineral character.
