The 2010 Château de Camensac is a superb example of classically styled Left Bank Bordeaux from one of the greatest vintages of the modern era. As a Fifth Growth from the esteemed 1855 Classification, Camensac delivers structure, elegance, and depth — often flying under the radar while offering exceptional value for its pedigree.


Tasting Notes:

Nose: Complex with blackcurrant, plum, and graphite, alongside lifted notes of cedar, dried tobacco.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with firm, well-integrated tannins. Flavours of cassis, blackcurrant and pencil shavings. 

Finish: Long, balanced, and savoury, with classic Bordeaux structure.


Producer Details:

Château de Camensac, located just outside Saint-Julien, is a historic estate with roots dating back to the 18th century. Though classified as a Haut-Médoc property, its proximity to more prestigious appellations and continued investment in quality winemaking have elevated its status in recent years.


Wine Details:

Vinification: Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel; aged 12–18 months in French oak barrels (40–50% new)
Alcohol Content: Approx. 13.5% ABV
Cellaring: Excellent condition for current drinking, with potential to evolve gracefully for another 10–15 years


Drinking Window:

Ready to enjoy now with decanting, or cellar further to develop tertiary complexity. Peak drinking from 2023 to 2035.
