The Wine
Château de Beaucastel is one of the most iconic estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, renowned for its traditional approach and use of all 13 permitted grape varieties. The 2015 vintage is widely regarded as outstanding in the Southern Rhône, producing wines of richness, depth, and balance.
The 2015 Beaucastel Rouge is a powerful yet refined expression, combining dense fruit, savoury complexity, and remarkable structure. Mourvèdre plays a significant role, contributing to the wine’s depth, spice, and exceptional ageing potential.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry layered with garrigue herbs, pepper, leather, smoked meat, and spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with a rich core of dark fruit supported by firm, ripe tannins. Notes of liquorice, olive tapenade, and earthy spice add complexity.
Finish: Long, powerful, and savoury, with lingering spice, herb, and mineral notes.

Château de Beaucastel, owned by the Perrin family, is one of the benchmark producers of the Southern Rhône. Known for its commitment to tradition, including whole-cluster fermentation and extended ageing, the estate produces wines of exceptional character and longevity.
Wine Details
Vinification: Traditional fermentation with partial whole-cluster inclusion; aged approximately 12–18 months in large oak foudres
Alcohol Content: ~14–14.5% ABV
Cellaring: Approachable with decanting, but best from 2025 onward; will evolve beautifully through 2050+
