The Wine

Château de Beaucastel is one of the benchmark estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, famed for its traditional winemaking and use of all 13 permitted grape varieties. The 2012 vintage produced wines of balance, charm, and approachability.

The 2012 Beaucastel Rouge offers a wonderful expression of the estate’s style—combining ripe fruit, savoury complexity, and refined structure, with Mourvèdre contributing depth and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry layered with garrigue herbs, pepper, leather, and hints of spice.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a supple yet structured texture. Dark fruit is complemented by notes of liquorice, olive tapenade, and earthy spice, supported by fine tannins.

Finish: Long, savoury, and balanced, with lingering herb, spice, and mineral notes.
