The Wine

Often referred to as the "Lord of Barsac," Château Climens is one of Bordeaux's most revered sweet wine estates. Renowned for its purity, precision, and remarkable longevity, Climens produces wines of exceptional finesse from 100% Sémillon grown on the distinctive limestone-rich soils of Barsac.

The 2009 vintage is a magnificent expression of the estate, combining richness and concentration with the vibrant freshness that defines great Climens. Luxurious yet impeccably balanced, it delivers extraordinary depth while retaining elegance and lift. A benchmark Barsac with decades of evolution ahead, it is equally captivating in its youth and with extended cellaring.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense aromas of apricot, pineapple, acacia honey, and citrus peel, with notes of white flowers, vanilla and toasted almonds.

Palate: Rich and opulent, with layers of tropical fruit, baked peach, marmalade, and honey. The wine's luscious sweetness is beautifully counterbalanced by vibrant acidity and striking mineral precision.

Finish: Exceptionally long and refined, with lingering notes of citrus zest, spice, and floral honey.
