The Wine

Château Cantenac Brown is one of Margaux's most respected classified growths, producing wines renowned for their elegance, perfume, and remarkable consistency. Set on some of the appellation's finest gravel soils, the estate combines traditional craftsmanship with an exceptional terroir to create wines of finesse and longevity.

The outstanding 1990 vintage has matured into a wonderfully expressive Margaux, offering the perfect balance between richness and refinement. Three decades of careful ageing have softened the wine's structure, revealing beautifully integrated flavours of mature fruit, cedar, tobacco, and spice. Graceful yet remarkably vibrant, it is a superb example of mature Bordeaux and a rewarding bottle for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Complex aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, dried plum, violet, cedar, cigar box, leather, and forest floor with subtle hints of sweet spice.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with silky, resolved tannins. Layers of cassis, black cherry, and mature red fruits are complemented by notes of tobacco, cocoa, truffle, and graphite, creating exceptional depth and harmony.

Finish: Long, elegant, and beautifully persistent, with lingering cedar, floral notes, and refined mineral character.
