The Wine
Château Bourgneuf is a historic Pomerol estate known for producing rich, structured wines from clay and gravel soils.
The 2012 Bourgneuf offers a more approachable and elegant expression compared to the powerful 2010, with refined fruit, softer tannins, and earlier drinkability while still retaining depth and ageing potential.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of red and black cherry, plum, and cassis layered with hints of cocoa, earth, tobacco, and subtle spice.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a supple texture and polished tannins. Ripe fruit is balanced by fresh acidity, with notes of mocha, leather, and mineral undertones.
Finish: Smooth and elegant, with lingering fruit and gentle spice.
