The Wine

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet from Domaine Bachelet-Monnot is a brilliant example of classic white Burgundy—precise, mineral, and quietly powerful.


Tasting Notes

Nose: Lifted and focused, with aromas of lemon zest, white peach, and green apple.

Palate: Linear and precise, showcasing Puligny’s hallmark minerality and finesse. The wine is medium-bodied, with flavours of citrus, pear skin, and stone.

Finish: Long, refined, and mouth-watering, leaving lingering impressions of wet stone, almond.

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, founded in 2005 by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, has quickly earned a reputation as one of the most rising and respected producers in Burgundy.


Wine Details

Vinification: Indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak barrels (15–20% new oak), aged 12 months on lees with minimal bâtonnage, followed by additional time in tank before bottling

Alcohol Content: ~13.0% ABV

Cellaring: Drinking well now with aeration; optimal from 2024–2030
