Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut, Champagne NV

Producer: Champagne Bollinger | Appellation: Champagne, France
Style: Non-Vintage Brut Champagne
Blend: Approximately 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, 15% Meunier
Drinking Window: Now–2030 | Aging Potential: 5–10 years

The Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut is a flagship expression from one of Champagne’s most iconic houses. Crafted with a dominant proportion of Pinot Noir and aged longer than most non-vintage Champagnes, it exemplifies Bollinger’s house style: rich, complex, and vinous.

Composed primarily of reserve wines from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, Special Cuvée is both structured and refined — a Champagne for lovers of depth, character, and elegance. Whether for celebration or contemplation, it remains a timeless choice among connoisseurs.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Expressive and layered, offering aromas of ripe apple, brioche, toasted almond, and citrus zest. Hints of honey, fresh hazelnut, and spice reveal its complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied and silky, with a fine mousse and beautifully balanced acidity. Notes of orchard fruit, lemon curd, and biscuit lead into subtle minerality and toasty elegance.

Finish: Long and precise, with lingering freshness, creamy depth, and a signature Bollinger richness.

Producer Details:

Founded in 1829, Champagne Bollinger is revered for its Pinot Noir-driven style, rigorous production standards, and uncompromising quality. A family-run house with a strong connection to its vineyards, Bollinger is one of the few grandes marques to produce the majority of its own grapes and to age its reserve wines in magnum under cork.

Special Cuvée reflects over a century of tradition, and remains a benchmark in non-vintage Champagne — both powerful and refined.

Wine Details:

Vinification: Fermented mostly in stainless steel, with a portion in old oak barrels; aged on the lees for a minimum of 3 years (exceeding the legal minimum of 15 months)
Dosage: Moderate (approx. 7–9 g/L)
Alcohol Content: Approx. 12% ABV
Cellar Potential: Ready to drink upon release, but will gain further complexity over 5–10 years

Drinking Window:

This Champagne is ready to enjoy now but will develop additional depth with a few years of cellaring. A great choice for immediate celebration or future occasions.

Food Pairing Suggestions:

Perfect with shellfish, roast poultry, sushi, or aged hard cheeses like Comté or Parmesan. It also shines with truffle dishes and foie gras, making it a versatile companion for fine dining.
